A. M. Cuff, Multi-Resolution Terrain Rendering for a Flight Simulator
1
This report discusses the development of a terrain engine that I have designed and implemented. It is suitable for either a flight simulator game or a general combat/flight simulator and also ideal for any modern game or simulation that requires large, realistic shaped terrain.
G. Dodd, Route Planning System
2
I aim to design and implement a system that can find routes between points on a two dimensional map in an amount of time that would allow the system to be used in real world applications. Another aims is that the routes found will need to be of a good quality (that is they will need to be close to, if not the shortest length possible).
A. Kurukchi, Digital Signage
3
Produce a system to generate the content of digital advertisements on video screens, etc. automatically by combing a 2D / 3D scene description with specific product information.
P. Newman, Simulation of Multi-Body Problems
4
A program to simulate multi-body problems based on gravitational forces between point masses for demonstrating A-level physics.
A. Roberts, Procedural Landscape Generation
5
Investigate various approaches to procedural landscape generation and rendering such terrains.
J. O'Shea, Slayer 3D - A Multi-player, 3D First-Person Shooting Game In A Web Browser
6
My aim was to create a computer game that runs inside a web browser. The game is a first-person shooter, 3D, and is played over a network with other players. Each player is represented by a 3D model, can move around a 3D environment, and shoot a variety of projectiles at other players. It is also team-based, there being two teams of players and to win the game a team must eliminate all the players of the opposing team before being eliminated themselves, after which the game is restarted. My main focus was on the networking aspect and the various algorithms involved in keeping the game status synchronised over a network in real time.
C. Pickford, Multi-Resolution Landscape Rendering
7
Create a program to generate a multi-resolution representation of a landscape for fast rendering.
